In the first of a multi-part series, we follow the fire and arson investigators of P.F.F.I.A, the Professional Fire & Fraud Investigators Association, as they test their investigation skills on specially-designed evolutions. In this one, investigators examine evidence at what at first glance appears to be a room and contents fire. Their investigation leads to the basement where something more sinister exists: the theft of natural gas which presumably was the cause of this fire.

In this lesson, investigators examine follow the smoke evidence to the kitchen in this house where they are led to a fire behind the stove -- and some very unusual findings relating to the stove.

We wrap up our series with Part 4, this time covering a fire in the basement. Investigators note more damage as they approach the furnace. The furnace unit had a burn pattern on one side and consumed Class A combustible materials were found at the base of the unit. Inspection of the furnace unit revealed a rag stuffed into the flue pipe. A recap of all the procedural steps and techniques covered in the previous segments of the series were also presented.
